"Drinking good wine with good food in good company is one of life's most civilized pleasures." Michael Broadbent MW

Dark Wine Tasting

My first wine tasting experience was a pivotal moment in my own life. It was a rare evening in Barcelona; torrential rain, thunder and lightning meant we had the entire shop to ourselves and the owners undivided attention. By the end of the evening I had been completely blown away by the sheer scale, complexity and beauty of the wine industry as it unfolded in front of me. How can such subtle differences make such a big impact on the flavour, structure and style of a drink? How is it that wines change so unpredictably as they age? Why have I never drank this before? Since then, I've never looked back and I'm delighted to offer Wine Tasting in Barcelona to anyone looking for a fun evening, filled with wine and good times!

If you're looking for a friendly dive into Spanish wine, food, culture, history and new experiences in Barcelona, then this is for you. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned vino-veteran, there'll be something exciting for you to discover here! Come and dive into a world of Spanish wine and tapas with this truly unique wine tasting experience in Barcelona city center.

A Spanish Wine Experience!

From the cool, green coasts of Galicia to the baking hot sands of Andalucia, Spain has been producing wine for thousands of years in a variety of different styles. Crisp, fresh Albariño from Rias Baixas; heady, exotic Tempranillo from Rioja; vibrant, refreshing Cava and powerful, brooding Garnatxa from Priorat are just some of the more famous regions and styles being produced in this truly diverse and exciting country. There's never been a better time to drink and learn about Spanish wine, so let's dive right in!

What's included? A full wine tasting led by a WSET qualified wine professional (Me!) who specialises in the wonderful world of Spanish wine. The tasting will include 5 premium wines, a selection of delicious cold tapas, water and exclusive access to a private tasting room in the beautiful area of the Born, in the heart of the Barcelona city center.

Where is it? Our tasting room is located within a 5 minute walk from three Metro stations; Jaume I (L4), Urquinaona (L1, L4) and Arc D'Triumf (L1), in Santa Caterina, a charming neighbourhood so named after the local market. It's a 10 minute walk from the old neighbourhood of the Born, Las Ramblas and the Gotic quarter. For Google Maps, please click here.

How much does it cost? The price is 50 euros per person with everything included for groups of 5 persons or more. For smaller groups, please note that this price will be higher and depends on the size of the group. This includes a 21% sales tax that is mandatory here in Spain, so no hidden charges!

What's the duration? The tasting experience will last roughly 2 hours. At the end of the tasting, you'll be walked to the nearest metro stop, taxi or a point of local interest should you wish to continue your day in true Spanish style!

Sounds great! How do I book? For inquiries and bookings, please send us an email here and we'll respond within a few hours to confirm availability and process your booking.

What do people say about the tastings?

"What a great night! Fintan has a real and rare knack of taking you on a wine journey with him. I have been to a few wine tastings now and every time I can't believe where the time goes! He is interesting and informative and obviously loves his subject. I can thoroughly recommend these wine tastings if you are looking for something a bit different." Gillod - Tripadvisor

I can't recommend these Wine Tastings enough! Actually, it is one of those things you want to tell all your friends about but also want to keep to yourself, as these tastings sell out almost as soon as they are announced. And it's easy to see why: Fintan, the "wine cuentista", is not only VERY knowledgeable but also a great host! Rtorresk - Tripadvisor

On one of my last outings here I took a reluctant English friend that had never been to a wine tasting - "too stuffy and pompous". Ah, but not this one. Fintan's enthusiasm for his topic means this isn't so much a wine lecture as a chat in really interesting company and you can't help but walk away having learned something.  Tim - Meet-up

Fintan is a fantastic host and a true gentleman. This has been our favorite night of vacation. We learned a lot, drank many glasses of great wine, ate delicious food, and had so much fun. Highly recommended!! Dan Bennett - Facebook

Should be kept as a secret, otherwise it will get too crowded 😉  Ferran Giron Valles - Meet-up
